When New Zealand’s fashion royalty team up to support the next generation, you do not hesitate. You run. That is exactly what we did when the incredible Jacqui McKinney and the MLT Hokonui Fashion Awards invited us to be part of the Next Gen Collective. And we couldn’t be happier about it.
This is the kind of project that reminds us why we do what we do. It is fresh, purposeful, and packed with heart.
The Next Gen Collective brings together some of the most iconic names in New Zealand fashion. Think Taylor, Twenty Seven Names, Kathryn Wilson, New Lands, Steve Dunstan and more. Each designer has contributed an exclusive tee design to raise funds and visibility for Aotearoa’s emerging fashion talent. Stylish? Yes. But more importantly… meaningful.
At Naked Creative, supporting creatives is more than a passion. It is a philosophy. We believe creativity shapes culture. It moves people. It drives progress. And we believe in telling great stories through every possible medium - film, photography, words, digital, design, and yes, absolutely fashion.
We are here for all of it.
That is why we jump at every opportunity to support new thinkers, bold makers and emerging voices. We are completely fizzing to back the next generation of creatives, not just in fashion, but across the entire creative ecosystem. We believe the world is better, braver, and more interesting when we champion those with the courage to create.
And huge credit where it is due. Jacqui McKinney is the driving force behind this entire initiative. Her energy, belief and love for this industry are exactly what makes projects like this not only possible, but powerful. Bringing together the best of the best to lift the next gen is no small feat. It takes vision. It takes mana. And Jacqui brought both.
These tees are not just cool. They are a symbol of what happens when generosity meets design. When experience makes space for fresh talent. When purpose becomes wearable. We are beyond proud to have played a small role in bringing this story to life.
The next generation of fashion is coming. Actually, they are already here. And we cannot wait to see where they take us.
